“If my traders had as much energy and passion as i have seen here tonight, they would start making some money!” Miles Hayward at Mako Global leading global trading company.
In business, as in life, our voice is one of our most valuable tools. It is the ultimate communication device. Yes!You Can Sing! corporate workshops are designed to develop the full potential of every voice. The workshops use song to develop the voice because the skills needed to deliver a song are the same skills that you need to be effective on the phone, in meetings and for presentations, and singing is an extremely effective tool to bring improvement to the use of voice in business communication.
- NO knowledge of reading or understanding music is required nor any technical musical ability to sing.
- The workshops are ideal for both experienced singers and beginners who regard themselves as ‘tone deaf’.
Yes! You Can Sing! workshops help individuals to:
- gain confidence
- gain presence
- develop an engaging voice
- unlock vocal power for winning presentations
- overcome nerves
Yes! You Can Sing! workshops benefit business teams by:
- generating team spirit
- building motivation
- releasing stress
Yes! You Can Sing workshops are great fun and are nonjudgmental. Everyone is equal – whatever their job title. The workshops foster an atmosphere of mutual support and positive criticism.
Yes! You Can Sing! workshops are specifically tailored to your company’s needs:
Presentation Skills and Team Building:-
Sing to Win
From 90 mins – half a day
In conversation we naturally use tone and pace because we are engaged in what we’re saying. With mutual support and positive feedback, I teach how we can develop this engagement and use it with great effect both in singing and public speaking. Everyone is actively involved in all aspects of the workshop. We start with simple and effective breathing and voice exercises. I teach everyone a song from scratch by imitation and demonstration We work on increasing voice projection and clarity. We may also work on spoken presentations. Yes! You Can Sing! can be called in as part of your training or presentation skills day, to energize the team at the beginning of the session or have some fun at the end of a session. The difference with a singing session is that the activities relate to the working environment and skills learnt can be used by participants at work.
A full day
From icebreakers to team building and communication sessions. Our workshops are based on turning “I can’t!” into “I can”, encouraging participants to work together to co-create a series of small successes throughout the workshop. Used as a metaphor, music is a powerful tool with which to explore communication, team work , learning styles and company dynamics. Fun and accessible to all levels, singing creates a safe environment to explore traditional concepts in a different way. The workshop will include singing with work on presentation skills, presentation content and delivery, or work on creativity.
Sing to Win with Body Talk Pro
As well including singing in your uniquely tailored workshop, you can also have a combination of singing and body language work. Body Talk Pro has created an add on to the Sing to Win workshop. This enjoyable approach to body language will transform a shy and nervous individual into a powerful and charismatic presenter. There are no magic tricks involved in the process. It’s all about learning how to relax, enjoying the moment and realising that your body is just as important instrument as your mind in giving compelling presentations as well as giving your best with confidence and style. Tim Dry created this workshop from his extensive experience of working as a mime artist and actor with the intrinsic use of body language laying a solid foundation for giving professional performances.

Testimonials from the Toastmasters workshops:-
“Gena is a good presenter. It was great fun and introduced useful skills. I thought the poem pre and post highlighted how singing can add colour to public speaking.” Alan Matthew
“Gena was great. Will put her workshops on my site for her. She is doing a great job, undoing all the harm our parents and teaches did when they told us to ‘play the triangle’ and keep out mouths closed!” Jenny Cutler
“Gena’s presentation was a very gentle introduction to the power of our own unique voices. She made the evening fun & give me a very positive experience of singing. Outstanding learning evening.” Anthony McGuigan
“I thought that the workshop was really fun and that Gena was very professional and good. Many thanks.” Camilla Allwood
“Thanks for a fantastic evening – and thanks to Gena. I am now thinking of joining a choir! It was both beneficial, interesting, entertaining and very uplifting. I am practicing my breathing and will see if it improves my speaking.” Carin Schwartz
“I found the workshop very useful for getting over nerves – if I can sing and recite poems like we did last night, I can do anything! I found the lessons in facial animation and body movement as appropriate to singing as to speaking, and I liked the way Gena wove singing and speaking together into a focus about performance.” Connor Guntrip
“The workshop last night was tremendous! Memorising the lines help a lot and it was liberating both for myself and observing all the others present. I very much feel I’ll be in touch with Gena. Thanks.” Elizabeth Davis
“Enjoyable and worthwhile. It gave me more energy…which I needed.” Lucia Dore
“Thanks for a very entertaining and fun workshop last night, we all gained more confidence and lost a few inhibitions by the end of the evening.” Jill Crooks
“I simply enjoyed the workshop yesterday, even though I do not like to sing in front of other people. Lucia kindly invited me to yesterday’s workshop. As I am setting up my own Image Consultancy business, I realized that I need to build my confidence to speak in front of large groups of people. Though I got nervous at times, I was surprised to find myself shouting and singing so loud in front of the crowd. This singing workshop was a good stepping stone for me.” Toshiko Kobatake
“Thanks for a really great evening which I think gave us all a better understanding of what we are capable of. Gena and Alison created a really enjoyable workshop and proved that we can sing!” Chris Bromby
“I really enjoyed the workshop, it was fun, entertaining – I learnt a lot about breathing correctly, projecting my voice and exaggerating the particular words one wants the audience to pay particular attention to. It has highlighted the areas I need to be more aware of when giving a speech – altogether, an extremely valuable experience!” Lisa Maw
“I thought the workshop was a perfect combination of theory and practical exercises, excellently delivered by Gena. I may not be ready for Top of the Pops, but it was a good intro to improving voice/pitch/tone etc.” George
“I thought the evening went extremely well. I was particularly impressed by Gena’s gentleness and lack of arrogance. I also liked the mechanism she used for keeping us in time – simple yet very effective. She is clearly very competent at what she does. She was also quite kind to me by complementing the skills she clearly noticed – I have a problem recognising what I am good at, because from behind the mask one actually does not know what one looks/sounds like – and therefore the effect one is having. I found the evening most enjoyable and uplifting.” Peter Jagger
“I thought the workshop last night was excellent. It was very lively, great fun and very informative.” Catherine Lehane
“Thoroughly enjoyed the Singing Workshop, for many reasons. I thought Gena’s gentle approach, uncomplicated instructions, great demonstration skills, enthusiasm, and occasional one to one help was amazing. She pointed out how much easier we all find it to “speak” with somebody else, rather than on our own. Also not to be afraid to use lots of vocal variety If my neighbours don’t think I’ve completely lost the plot, I shall be practising that exercise of opening the arms out, and producing the ‘biggest’ voice I can!” Wendy Carter
