Who Is Gena Dry?
Gena Dry studied Popular and Jazz Musicianship at the prestigious
Goldsmith’s College in London.

Gena has 15 years experience of teaching people who say they can’t sing right through to signed recording artists including Dodgy, Baxter Dury (Ian Dury’s son) Vi Subversa from the Poison Girls and the Medieval Baebes. Gena has taught ex prisioners and offenders and drama students to present a song for audition. As a tutor at London Music School in Wapping Gena taught singing and performance and song writing and ran the choir.

Gena Dry’s professional music career includes writing songs with Hussein Boon (guitarist for De La Soul, Beats International, MicroGroove, Freak Power, Ephraim Lewis, Eusebe) Andy Miller (Dodgy) Merlin Rhys Jones (guitarist for Ian Dury) Chris Constantinou (bass player for Adam and the Ants) and Glenn Skinner (record producer for Curoisity, Killing Joke, Lighthouse Family, Milltown Bros, Boy George, and Debbie Harry). Gena was the singer, 2nd guitarist and co writer for the critically acclaimed band Colour Noise. Their records were played by John Peel and they were Johnathan King’s tip of the week and they performed and toured with artists such as Roger Taylor from Queen, Midge Ure, Daisy Chainsaw, Senseless Things.

Gena Dry recorded a solo album with Andy Miller from Dodgy on guitar, John Frennett on bass (Laika & Moonshake) and Daniel Strittmatter on drums (High Llamas, Mike Scott & Ian MacNabb). She performed live in London with Andy, Daniel and Alonsa Bevan from Kula Shaker and also had a band in New York and played at the Anti Folk Festival and at the legendary CBGB’s.
